The next phase of development for the Kingsport Public Library is scheduled to begin in early April of 2018. The work includes the interior renovation and expansion of the existing Teen Area and Magazine Room, along with fully enclosing the existing exterior colonnade space along the Northeast quadrant of the facility.
This phase of the project is keeping in line with the master plan of the facility, resulting in a complete expansion and renovation of the library.
Children’s Library

The project involved full demolition of the existing space and complete interior renovations to the Children’s Library within the Kingsport Public Library. The interior concept was developed with a woodland theme, and the finishes and furnishings were selected to complement. The program space includes a dog reading room, multiple play areas, and a universally accessible restroom.
